การใช้ Still และ Yet

still นอกจากจะใช้เป็น adv. แปลว่า ยังคง

ตัวอย่าง
I still hope for a place in a school.
ถ้าใช้กับ ขั้นกว่า = even = “ด้วยซ้ำไป, ขึ้นไปอีก”

ตัวอย่าง
Somsri is wise but Noi is still wiser.
และอาจใช้เป็น conj. ในความหมาย nevertheless = แต่ถึงกระนั้นก็

ตัวอย่าง
Ha has often made me angry; still, he is my student and it is my duty to teach him well.

yet ใช้ในรูปปฏิเสธ = ยังไม่
ตัวอย่าง  I have had no news from him yet.

yet ใช้ในรูปคำถาม = แล้วหรือยัง
ตัวอย่าง  Have your wife arrived yet? ( Present perfect tense)

yet ใช้ในรูปบอกเล่า = ยังคง (ใช้ still แทนได้)
ตัวอย่าง Work hard now while there is yet time.

yet ใช้กับ ขั้นกว่า = ยิ่งขึ้นไปอีก (ใช้ still แทนได้)
ตัวอย่าง  I have yet better news for you.

yet ใช้เป็น conjunction = nevertheless = แต่กระนั้นก็
